Science based engineering has - over many decades - made flying an airplane a much safer thing. Recent information technology leaps offer a huge opportunity to further improve safety, to increase efficiency and to optimise other aspects of flying. We believe that the capturing and sharing of anonymous flight data together with their context (e.g. weather conditions, aircraft type) should help others master routine maneuvers and even difficult and rare avionic problems.
